About me
Michael Todd Wright, AS-ET, NREMT-I, Photographer
Remember those kids who danced to their own music? The ones that were driven by imagination, that lived for love and laughter. I try to see things from your perspective, and understand how important it is to celebrate life's most precious moments. I take the time to understand your ideas and incorporate your personality into your photos and video albums.
I grew up in Great Falls, S.C. I found a love of electricity, woodworking, livestock and photography through 4-H. Spending many summers from the age of 9-19 at Clemson University (which maybe one of the main reasons I pull for Clemson today) and 4-H camp long in Aiken, SC I learned many of the fundamentals of what makes things work.
After high school I attended DeVry University in Atlanta, Ga with studies in their Electronics Technology, AS Degree program. I joined the US Navy in Nov. ’89 and served aboard the USS Belknap (CG-26) stationed in Gaeta, Italy. During my enlisted service I learned about Radio Communications, RADAR, computer technology, satellite communications and satellite video feeds, Digital video switchboards and displays or what would later be known as multimedia. I also assisted in the operation of the US Navy closed circuit television (CCTV) where we set up the ships TV programming, video production, and broadcasting.
Believe it or not, I discovered my love of multimedia while working in an electronic manufacturing plant located in Charlotte, N.C. Part of the challenge was to be able to show 10 different nationalities of Asian that could not communicate with each other due to different dialects and many only spoke broken English as a second language. I took suggestions of several engineers about ways to overcome the communication problems the plant had and designed a process that is still used in the manufacturing world today known as component placement guides or (CPG's). After a few months of working out the bugs I went on to teach the process of creating CPGs throughout the engineering ranks of Ogden Atlantic Design then onto Surface Mount Technology Centre, Inc. around the world. My process design has been forwarded onto other companies in the manufacturing realm through employees leaving Atlantic Design and The SMT Centre and pursuing careers elsewhere.
Later in life I revisited an old hobby of mine in photography thanks to invitation from Bobby Lyles, CEO of Flopeye.net and picked up another job of web design as one of four web masters. Currently Flopeye.net or what is now known as Flopeye Publishing owns and operates several different web sites and online e-commerce sites for customers around the world.
With my experience and education photography through PCDI (Ashworth University), graphics design, digital photo, video editing and production gives me the tools and imagination deliver professional photos, affordable prints and presentations that exceeds your expectations.
